SCG International Expands AAC Blocks & Panels Production in India

BigBloc Construction Limited (BCL), one of the leading players in the manufacturing of Aerated Autoclaved Concrete (AAC) Blocks, Bricks and Panels together with SCG INTERNATIONAL INDIA PVT LTD. (SCG INTL INDIA), a subsidiary of Construction and Building Materials has acquired a joint venture Siam Cement BigBloc Construction Technologies — share holdings are 52% and 48% accordingly.

This project has been successful in acquiring land in Gujarat, India which is a region with high construction value and continuous growth to set up a factory to produce AAC Blocks and Panels to support production capacity of 300,000 cubic meters expected in 2023.
BCL Group’s total production capacity will increase to 13.75 lakh CBM per annum, which will be the largest in western India and is expected to generate over 125 million Rupees per year.

Mr. Abhijit Datta, Managing Director of SCG International Co. Ltd. mentioned “SCG International has played a key role in penetrating the Indian market and has been actively operating business in India. We have already started marketing under the brand named Zmartbuild” to offer a wide range of construction products and solutions, including the distribution of AAC panels for this joint venture. This is another important step in promoting joint business growth in the Indian market.”
