Low-Carbon Ready Mix Concrete for Sustainable Construction

SCG International, led by Mr. Abhijit Datta, Managing Director, along with CPAC and SHAH Cement Ready Mix Concrete, with Mr. Nahid Ullah, RMC Business Unit Head, have joined forces to provide consultancy and development services for Ready Mix Concrete. This collaboration focuses on enhancing production efficiency and developing innovative mix designs for Ready Mix Concrete that reduce cement usage. The initial phase focuses on production development aimed at reducing carbon dioxide emissions by cutting cement usage by 25 kg per cubic meter. In the future, there are plans to further improve production by exploring the use of alternative green raw materials such as ‘Fly Ash’, which will enhance production efficiency, reduce the amount of cement used, and maintain the compressive strength and quality of Ready-Mix Concrete. This positions SHAH Cement as a pioneering Ready-Mix Concrete producer in Bangladesh, utilizing waste materials such as ‘Fly Ash’ as a sustainable substitute in its Ready-Mix Concrete production, emphasizing their commitment to achieving Net Zero by 2050.

Mr. Abhijit Datta said “Shah Cement has been one of SCG International ‘s valued partners. Today marks a significant milestone in our ongoing partnership as we share knowledge and provide technical assistance to our partner aiming to become ‘A Trusted International Supply Chain Partner.’ This emphasizes our commitment to advancing the construction industry in Bangladesh and other markets through innovative solutions. The Ready-Mix Concrete Consultancy Service agreement we are about to sign underscores our commitment to collaborate in new areas. The initial phase of this collaboration focuses on cost-saving in the production of Ready-Mix Concrete by reducing cement usage, which can help decrease carbon dioxide emissions and be more environmentally friendly.

This success represents the application of our knowledge, experience, and expertise in cement production to enhance our customers’ cement production capabilities. It is complemented by our services and consultancy through our ‘Global Expertise,’ especially in Bangladesh, using the ‘End-To-End Supply Chain Solution’ strategy. This approach goes beyond merely helping partners sell products or providing standalone solutions. It focuses on building trust and reliability through our knowledge and expertise, ready to support the growth of our partner’ green businesses towards effective and sustainable success.
