CPAC and Samsung E&A Sign MOU for Global 3D Printing and Cementitious Technology

CPAC, a subsidiary of SCG, led by Mr. Thammasak Sethaudom, President and CEO of SCG, and Mr. Surachai Nimla-or, President of SCG Cement and Green Solution Business, along with Mr. Hong Namkoong, President and CEO of SAMSUNG E&A, and Mr. Dong Hyun Kim, Executive Vice President of the Engineering Technology Division of SAMSUNG E&A, signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) to collaborate on the commercialization of 3D printing and special cementitious materials. This partnership combines the strengths of SAMSUNG E&A from South Korea, an international expert in comprehensive construction solutions, with the excellence of CPAC’s cement and concrete products and technology, which have been at the forefront of the construction materials industry for over 70 years. The aim is to elevate the construction industry to global standards. The event was honored by the presence of Mr. Nopporn Keeratiwiboonrung, Chief Marketing Officer of SCG Cement and Green Solution Business, who represented CPAC in welcoming the distinguished guests.

The signing of the Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) reflects the shared vision of both companies to drive innovation and new technology in advancing a modern and sustainable construction industry for the global market. This is particularly evident in the use of 3D printing technology, which enhances operational efficiency through an automated process controlled by digital files via computer software. This reduces operational errors, addresses the shortage of skilled labor, accelerates construction, minimizes construction waste in line with green construction principles, and lowers construction costs compared to traditional methods. Additionally, the collaboration will focus on research and development in material science, machinery, and equipment, as well as the exchange of knowledge and experience in 3D printing technology and special cementitious materials. SAMSUNG E&A will contribute with their 3D Printing Mortar, known for its exceptional quality, smooth texture, and ability to create complex structures up to multi-story buildings. The material is robust and durable, developed and patented over the past decade. CPAC will provide comprehensive technology consultation, covering 3D printing, engineering consultation, project evaluation support, and professional services in architectural design and other aesthetic considerations by a team of experienced experts. This expertise will be applied to the construction of buildings located in Saudi Arabia.

Furthermore, SCG International plays a crucial role in overseeing the supply chain process from start to finish, ensuring the inspection and delivery of 350 tons of cement to customers. This ensures that the cement delivery and construction using this innovative technology will be executed efficiently, meet international standards, and fully satisfy customer requirements. The strong collaboration between CPAC, SAMSUNG E&A, and SCG International will not only elevate the construction industry’s standards but also support the growth of new innovations and technologies for sustainable construction in the future.
